Yes indeed the rumours are true, as revealed this morning in The Bournemouth Daily Echo; The Way OutBack Brewing Company have acquired premises for a microbrewery and tap rooms, all in our dream location of Southbourne High Street.

Initially opening as a microbrewery, with bar/tap room and a limited amount of seating, we hope to give locals and visitors a really intimate, cosy and eclectic atmosphere to sample both ours and carefully selected guest beers. In the day time, there’ll also be coffee, workspaces with usb connections and wi-fi, and of course the chance to buy our bottled take-home beer, merchandise, and meet our larger than life brewery dog Arthur Wellington brown.

We’re nicknaming it ‘Outpost No.1’ and what you see in the pictures are artists impressions is how we hope it will finally look. As many locals are aware, the site needs lot of love and in between our day jobs and brewing, we’re hard at work on the conversion.

Southbourne is such a vibrant, supportive business community and we’re already so grateful for the support and encouragement from our friends at the Larder House, Velodomestique, the Brewhouse and Kitchen, and Terrior Tapas. We really hope to extend the high street further towards Pokesdown and restore what is a really beautiful shop front to its former glory. From the comments people have made as they pass and speak to us, this is really important to them, and we’re thrilled to be taking on the challenge.

Like our beers, we’re doing this with a bucketload of passion and creativity, but with a shoestring budget. This is where you’ll come in, we’re planning a crowdfunding campaign to allow locals and interested parties to invest in the future of the OutPost No.1, in return for exclusive goodies, prizes and experiences. We’ll share more information on that shortly.

So here we go! The Biggest part of our adventure so far begins now.

Take care, Rich and the team. x
